Joseph’s Storehouses
A Vision of Plenty
In the days of Pharaoh, Joseph interpreted a dream that foretold seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine. With wisdom and foresight, Joseph guided Egypt to store up during plenty so that the people — and even surrounding nations — would have enough during scarcity. His leadership turned potential disaster into salvation.
From Joseph’s vision to our future.
Today, we face different challenges — monumental change, war, supply chain instability, labor shortages, and social division — but the principle remains the same: foresight and preparation safeguard the people.
Storing food alone is no longer enough. In our generation, we must store knowledge, cultivate resilience, and teach entire communities how to produce and sustain life.
A Modern Vision Rooted in Ancient Wisdom
The Embassy of Benevolence proposes to make Jerusalem a global leader in food security, wellness, and education— a living model inspired by Joseph’s storehouses:
1. Indoor Farming Initiative
The Clal Center, situated in the heart of Jerusalem, is an architectural landmark with untapped potential. We envision its transformation into a pioneering Indoor Farming and Wellness Hub.
Hydroponics and vertical farming will allow year-round food production, immune to weather and war.
By decentralizing agriculture into cities, we can reduce dependence on vulnerable border farms threatened by rocket attacks.
Residents will be able to learn, participate, and benefit from food production, strengthening resilience and food independence.
2. Holistic Wellness Services
Joseph didn’t just save lives with food — he gave people hope. Our vision extends beyond agriculture into whole-person healing:
Trauma recovery programs: counseling, group therapy, and resilience training.
Wellness modalities: ice baths, mindfulness practices, exercise, and nutrition education.
Community sanctuaries where physical and emotional healing are cultivated together.
3. Tourism and Knowledge Exchange
Jerusalem is already a center of global pilgrimage. By positioning the Clal Center as an international showcase for urban farming and wellness, we:
Attract visitors from around the world to witness innovation born from adversity.
Create global knowledge-sharing networks to help nations facing food insecurity, war, or instability.
Multiply the model — with hubs across Israel and beyond, like beehives intelligently placed for maximum reach and sustainability.
Create new jobs in agriculture, technology, education, and wellness.
Provide a living classroom where schools can bring students to learn hands-on about growing food, sustainability, and resilience.
Reestablish Israel’s agricultural identity — reminding us that our roots as a people are deeply tied to the land and its produce.
Genesis 41:48–49
“Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.”
Why Jerusalem?
Just as Joseph’s wisdom fed not only Egypt but surrounding nations, our vision begins in Jerusalem but flows to everywhere on earth.
It is Israel’s most-visited city, drawing approximately 3.6 million visitors annually, or nearly 80% of all tourists to the country
Jerusalem is a symbol of hope, resilience, and light to the nations.
From this city, the model of “Joseph’s Storehouses” can be replicated — in Israel’s periphery, in developing nations, and in any community seeking sustainable, local solutions.
Like bees that establish hives in strategic locations, we can establish educational hubs and urban gardens wherever they are most needed.
Our Commitment
The Embassy of Benevolence believes that the future of food security is not only in storage but in education, resilience, and shared knowledge. By transforming spaces like the Clal Center into living examples of agricultural innovation and holistic wellness, we make Jerusalem a model for the world — a city that does not only survive crisis, but leads others into resilience and peace.
This is our “Vision of Plenty” — Joseph’s wisdom reborn for today.
