Why the Embassy of Benevolence Opposes the MAID Program

The Embassy of Benevolence stands firmly against Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) program, recognizing it as a state-sanctioned form of homicide and a predatory regime targeting vulnerable citizens. Since its legalization in 2016, MAID has expanded rapidly, with tens of thousands of Canadians choosing assisted death—numbers that are alarmingly high compared to similar programs elsewhere.

MAID is far from the peaceful option it is often portrayed as. Medical experts reveal that the procedure can cause significant suffering, contradicting claims of a humane death. It undermines the value of human life and pressures vulnerable individuals rather than offering true care and support.

We join forces with grassroots groups and advocates in Canada who fight to protect life and promote compassionate alternatives, such as palliative care, which focuses on holistic support, symptom relief, and dignity without resorting to euthanasia.

At the Embassy of Benevolence, we are actively:

  • Raising awareness about the risks and realities of the MAID program.

  • Supporting organizations and individuals in Canada working tirelessly to defend life and provide alternatives.

  • Offering our voice and strength to amplify the pro-life movement’s message and influence public policy toward protecting the vulnerable.

We believe every life is precious and deserves care, respect, and hope—not state-mandated death. Together, with faith and commitment, we stand against this predatory system and advocate for true compassion and healing.

We Stand For Life

At the Embassy of Benevolence, we affirm the sanctity of every human life, created in the image of G-d, as stated in Genesis 1:27. Life is sacred and must be protected, as the commandment clearly declares, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). Every individual is invaluable—“Whoever saves one life, it is as if they have saved the whole world” (Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5). We have a sacred duty to defend the vulnerable and speak up “for those who cannot speak for themselves” (Proverbs 31:8), and we must never “stand idly by the blood of your neighbor” (Leviticus 19:16). Ultimately, life and death belong to G-d alone: “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away” (Job 1:21). Guided by these truths, we oppose the MAiD program and stand for true compassion and care that respects the divine gift of life.
